A digital manometer will give you a second reading to help verify the pressure sensors of an engine. If your diagnostics tool and manometer read different values your sensor is likely faulty and a cause of other problems. This makes a digital manometer a must have diagnostic tool for any mechanical trade professional working on modern engines.

To measure DPF pressure simply connect the manometers positive (+) terminal to the DPF's front differential pressure sensor and record the values of the engine while idling. Be sure to re-check the pressure after cleaning or regenerating a DPF to be sure that it is clear of pressure.
